2019 award finalists announced

SHINING examples of business excellence have been shortlisted for the 25th Wiltshire Business Awards.

Judges for the awards, organised by the Swindon Advertiser’s parent company Newsquest, have hand picked businesses which could be crowned with one of the 10 awards at the winning ceremony in May.

Editor of the Swindon Advertiser Pete Gavan said: “This year’s awards has already shown what an incredible variety of excellent businesses are out who deserve extra recognition for the work they do.

“The awards started 25 years ago to celebrate the best and the brightest companies and I’m truly excited to see the winners crowned in May.”

Strong candidates which have already stood out include The National Self Build and Renovation Centre, being shortlisted in three categories, including Business Person of the Year, Best Business to Work For, and Corporate Social and Environmental Responsibility Award.

Other notable candidates in with a chance for winning including Marlborough-based Green Machine Computers which save old PCs from the scrapheap and salvages what it can to donate to local schools and charities, and Appsbroker Ltd, a Google Cloud Partner that provides IT solutions.

The eco-computer firm is in the running for the Corporate and Social Responsibility Award, Service to the Community and Learning and Development Awards.

Although it might face healthy competition from Poppy’s Picnic, based in Chippenham, the raw fresh dog food company which recently served its premium dog meals to guests on the Channel 4 show Come Dine With Me.

Expert judges from leaders in their industry will be chosen among the sponsors, which includes Natwest, Bespoke Training Services, Imagine Cruising, MAN Truck & Bus,The Enterprise Network, RSM, Juice Recruitment, BBC Wiltshire, C3 Marketing, TWC Frames Ltd and TWC Home Improvements.

long-standing supporters Thrings Solicitors is once again the overall sponsor for the awards as well as sponsoring the Outstanding Excellence Award.

Winners in the other 10 categories will be chosen to enter the award to be crowned winner overall.

This year’s black-tie ceremony will be held at Centerparcs Longleat on May 10 where more than 80 finalists will compete for one of the twelve accolades, including the two new categories of Micro Business of the Year Award and Best Business to Work For.
